The Brothers' take on Gonzo's Quest
The conquistador who introduced the whole industry to falling blocks. Gonzo's Quest came out in 2011 with Avalanche reels and an increasing multiplier, and almost every cascade slot you play today owes it a debt.
Five reels, three rows, 20 lines, but the reels don't spin — stone blocks drop into place. Win, and the winning blocks shatter and new ones fall in, with a multiplier that climbs 1×, 2×, 3×, 5× through a single cascade chain. Land three Free Fall scatters and the bonus runs the same Avalanche idea with bigger multipliers — 3×, 6×, 9×, 15×. The whole feel of the game is built on that climbing number.
RTP is 95.97%, a touch under the modern 96% norm, and volatility is medium-high. Max win is 2,500× your bet, which is the honest weak point — by 2025 standards that ceiling is small. Bet range is friendly and the Avalanche keeps the base game livelier than a standard spinner, so sessions feel active even when the multiplier doesn't climb far.
We respect Gonzo for what it started more than for what it pays today. The 2,500× cap and the sub-96% RTP date it, and the later Megaways version hits harder. But the original Avalanche rhythm still holds up, and there's a reason this one stayed in lobbies for over a decade.
